Just in Time.....

The garage doors were installed Tuesday......just in time as it started snowing Wednesday morning & it hasn't quit! We're at 16 inches & it's still snowing! The doors are painted but we'll have to paint them again as the color doesn't go with what we've picked out. We're just glad they're on so we could take down the tarps we had up to cover the space. This will probably be our last post until the new year. Merry Christmas everyone!!!

No Pictures....just an update

It's been SO long since I've posted anything......everyone has probably given up on me. Leryl is still on his own as Andrea is still sick. She's been through a lot & we hope she's better soon. Leryl has the electrical all tied together & is calling for an inspection for Tuesday. We finally nailed down an air conditioning contractor. They'll be here Tuesday. The big garage doors will come Monday & be installed Tuesday. So.....it's going to get busy again. I hope to post some pictures Tuesday or Wednesday. If you're still checking.....thanks!!! We're getting our first snow of the year. Started about 2 this afternoon & it's still snowing. Not piling up very fast as it's a very fine snowfall. Looks pretty. Have a good weekend everyone!

Still At It.....

Lery has been on his own since last Wednesday. Mike went home as Andrea was really sick. She's getting better so we should be getting him back. Leryl has been wiring......did the dryer today. The plumbers hooked up the hot & cold tubing to the manifold. The rooms are all marked out on the manifold so if we have a water issue we just go to the manifold & turn the appropriate line off. Wish I something more exciting to post but we're at a stage that doesn't show a lot of progress even though things are happening. We're on the 3rd contractor for air conditioning. He's coming out tomorrow so hopefully....he'll be a go! We need to get that in before any insulation can be put in. It'll happen. Thanks for checking.....even though there's not much to see.

Still Wiring.....

Ok.....not real exciting but maybe some of you will find these a little bit interesting. The first 3 pictures show the hot & cold water manifold. The red hot water tubing hooks into the red valves on the left & the blue cold water tubing hooks into the blue valves on the right. The 4th picture shows the wires hanging from the electrical panel....and Leryl assures me he knows what they're all for & where they all belong. The last picture shows the handy dandy spool holder Mike made. It has worked well for the boys. I think they're down to wiring the oven, microwave, kitchen pendants & 3 little accent cans in the great room. Looks like another big job will soon be completed!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Plumbing & Doors

OK....more pictures for Bill. The white pipe is central vacuum. I painted the Tyvek yesterday to see what Sveldt Sage looks like. Leryl & Mike hung the garage man door & the door to the BBQ area. Now.....if the big garage doors would get here we'd be tight!!! They're still working on the wiring. I think they'll both be glad when it's done.

Cans, Cans & More Cans.....

Leryl & Mike have all the downstairs cans mounted & most of the upstairs. Not real exciting photo ops but I'm supposed to document it all. A couple shots of plumbing for you, Bill!!! :)

Drillin' & Pullin'.....

OK...Bill wanted pictures of the wiring. Nice box, huh? Tim, Maryal & Mom are here for the weekend. I put Maryal to work on sweeping & Tim is helping Leryl figure out the panel. The safe is installed & the framing around the tub is done. Plumbers are here today so it's busy out there.

One Door In.....

Double doors are in the great room! Gave the boys a bit of trouble as the concrete slab is not completely flat. They hung in there & got it done!!! I didn't do so well on the pictures but you get the idea. The blog will definitely slow down as drilling holes & pulling wires in not real exciting stuff to document! Thanks for checking & I'll do my best to keep it interesting. Penne......I didn't have a choice on the hardware. It's a special locking system built into this door.....my choice was in finish only. Oh well.......................

Got 'Em In!!!

OK.....the upstairs windows are in so I can quit nagging! Mike returned Monday evening, the windows went in yesterday and today they're off getting "stuff". They have to put in the central vac system and then I think they're on to electrical.....more shavings for me to sweep. Spud Hill & Moscow Mountain had a dusting of snow this morning.....it's coming!

Just About Got It....

Allan is down to the front porch roof! We really lucked out with the weather. He says these have been perfect days for him....not too hot, not too cold, no rain. We feel a whole lot better knowing we're "tight". Leryl is still stapling up the aluminum sheets. His new stapler arrived so that has made the process go faster. The upstairs windows need to be popped in. They've been accessing the roof through the openings. I think Leryl & Mike will start the electrical stuff when Mike gets back. Now, we get to decide where all the switches & plugs go. Thanks for checking us out.

Upstairs Heat!

Mike went home for a few days so Leryl was on his own today. He worked on the upstairs radiant heat. Mike & Leryl strung all the tubing & Leryl worked on stapling the aluminum plates. He has a special stapler ordered that will make it go a lot faster but it hasn't arrived. Mike made a neat little guide to hold the tubing up & space it. It fits between the floor joists & it works really well. Nice invention, Mike! It shows up well in the first picture. Allan, the roofer, is just about done so we're in good shape! Woo~hoo!!!

Alan, the roofer, hard at work. He called yesterday and said
he had been sick but that he should be able to stay on our job
from here on out. I'll be gone until Monday......off to the Napa
Valley for Therin's wedding. Jennifer, Marilyn, Andrea & I
plan to do some wine tasting............could be trouble. Hope you
all have a good weekend!

3 More!!!

We liked the roof hip on the garage and above the windows in the great room so well.....Mike & Leryl tore off the little triangles on the gables on the front side and added 3 more roof hips!!! The roofer has the garage done and part of the south side. He was supposed to come back today but.....he didn't make it. Hopefully tomorrow. Ordered siding and exterior window trim today. It will come tomorrow so Greg & Jason will get going on that real soon. Weather is looking great for the next 7~10 days. Woo~hoo!!!

A Change.....

Our maple tree tells us it's fall!!!
Well, we altered the plans a bit today. The original plan had a vaulted ceiling in the great room with the windows above the French door being arched. We made the ceiling flat which changed the windows to rectangles. Mike suggested adding a little roof hip below the gable like we have above the garage door. We said "go for it" and we think it worked! The gable was a little over powering with it. Good idea, Mike!

More Windows!!!

The bay window is in the eating nook! The laundry room window is to the left in the bay picture. Mike & Jason are working on one of the garage windows. They finished the overhang on the garage. Still waiting for the roofer to come back. Maybe tomorrow! Hope you're enjoying our progress.

"The Supervisor"

The Supervisor checking on what happened without him today. Mike & Greg put some of the windows in. Leryl did a pretty good job of staying off his leg. No pain, so that's good. We'll see how he does tomorrow. :)
