Fireplace Surround...........

Well, the surround tiles are in place. They don't show very well in the pictures. They're metallic with some copper & silver in them. Not quite finished as there are some trim pieces to go in but you get the idea. Originally planned just one row on the floor but the layout of the surround had to change so we had enough to do two rows. I think it'll work. The guys were back to put the porch fascia boards on & finish the step. We'll have a paver path come up to the step. Now, we need to decide what kind of railing to put on. We've been painting window & door trim the past two days. Leryl's still tinkering.........I gave it up. Thanks for checking.

BBQ Time................

The concrete for the BBQ pad was poured this morning. A whole lot better than the mud hole that was there. I came in before Greg handed me a trowel.

Porch Ceiling.....

The cedar we got from Fred Heller is just about all in place. I quickly painted the trim on the inside of the porch so we won't have to do it after the cedar is in place.......only problem is, they were about half done before they figured out that would be a good thing to do. Oh well. The porch is feeling pretty homey so we hope you'll come sit with us. Have a good weekend.

Cabinets are Done!..................

Bill & Bob were back bright & early this morning to install the great room cabinets. They needed Leryl's help man handling a couple of the pieces. We don't have the shelves in place & the fireplace surround tile is this afternoon's job. The units finished off the great room nicely. Now.....what am I going to put on the shelves????? Tile, Tile & More Tile......

Leryl has been tiling away! He finished the upstairs shower & added some of the backsplash tiles for accent. He has also done the backsplash in the laundry room (there's a piece of cardboard in the picture that will come out), the floor of the "water closet" in our bathroom as well as the tub deck. The laminate on the den counter top is in place. Decided to coordinate it with the safe color. Worked out well. Little by little! Thanks for looking.

The Boys are Back.....

Greg & Jason have been super busy but......they've taken time out to come put the decking on the front porch. They've been roofing another house they're building so they start their day on the roof at 5, work until it gets too hot then they come over here. Bless their hearts!!! Thanks, Greg & Jason! We must be getting close to being done as they came & picked up the porta potty! No more second bathroom! Leryl has gotten the counter laminate laid in the laundry room & upstairs bathroom & the backsplash is almost done upstairs. Mom & Susie came to visit for a few days. It was really nice to have them here. Susie did all kinds of clean up work upstairs & Mom did some window sill cleaning. Every little bit helps! Hope you all have a safe & happy 4th of July!
