Verlin is back & he & Leryl installed the great room, bedroom & bathroom blinds today. They look nice & they help deaden some of the sound. However, I really don't understand why they have to cost so much! Not sure what's on tomorrow's agenda. We need to finish the outside painting so that might be a good place to start. I'm sure we'll think of something. Thanks for hanging with us!
The kids arrived on Sunday & they surprised Leryl with a neon sign for the Man Cave. It's very cool & I think it will be an incentive for him to get things done up there. Ryan, Andrea & Jennifer gave us a bad time about the two chairs in the great room for 5 people. Good thing we had the bar stools. As you can see, it's pretty bare but it will get better. Leryl & Jennifer are sitting in the den & it's a real mess as Leryl has to drill through the desk top to run all the computer cables down. He needs the gramet before he can drill. I'll post more pictures as we get rooms settled. We're loving it so far. Off to soak in my tub. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...................................
Wow! After a year of walking around on the concrete slab.....as of today it's officially covered! Carpet guys finished our bedroom & the den. They'll come back tomorrow & finish the upstairs. Chris, the wood floor installer came this morning & got a good start on the great room. Mike.....he was very impressed with the level of the concrete. I don't think he even had to do any leveling. Leryl is really pleased with Chris' work & he's glad he's not having to lay the floor. OK.....I'm really starting to get excited!!!
Well, the carpet installers came BUT......the boss forgot to tell him the downstairs is on concrete. He didn't bring the right tack strips so.....they put down tack strips upstairs & laid the pad. They'll be back in the morning......along with the wood floor installer. Lots will be happening tomorrow. I apologize for the picture of the carpet rolls. After I downloaded I noticed it was blurry. I'm too tired to go out & retake. The great room area is cleaned out & ready to have the floor laid. I've been cabinet cleaning & window washing. I'm only worrying about the inside. The outside will have to happen later. Leryl is almost done with tiling. He grouted the tub front & the glass block today & only has the backsplash above the cooktop in the kitchen. He's done an AMAZING job! I don't think he realized how much tiling we had. There's a bunch & he's done a great job on all of it. OK.....tomorrow I'll post carpet laid, not just rolls! Well, we have a little of this & a little of that. Leryl finished the finish work on the post in the kitchen......which I wish wasn't there but it's kind of important in holding up the upstairs. He added crown moulding to the top today. He discovered cutting crown is not real easy. He says he has the hang of it now. He finished the backsplash around the sinks & the tub yesterday. He has to do the tub face & then grout. He's getting a little burned out on tiling. He has the kitchen backsplash above the cooktop to go & then he can pack away the tile saw. Woo~hoo!!! I now have a completely functioning laundry room! He hooked up the washer & dryer today. Not a great picture but you get the idea. I LOVE the sink in the laundry room. I've been using it a lot! Carpet comes Wednesday & the wood floor installer will start on Thursday. Thanks for hanging with us! It truly is happening!
Steve & Jason came this morning. We now have a tub in place & two working toilets! Love the lids, Bryson! No more running up to the apartment! They'll be back tomorrow to work on bathroom sinks & the kitchen. Little bit by little bit!!!
