Old Green to the Rescue.....Again!

What would we do without Old Green? Today, they used her to put the main beam in place. Leryl drove her through the French door opening in the great room. He picked up the beam with the forks, lifted it up and set it in place. Greg, the contractor and his son, Jason were here today to help. Jason used a wall jack to get it right where they wanted it. Pretty cool!

Making Progress

Sorry.....no pictures this time. I've tried to take some of the interior walls but they just turn out looking like nothing. The entire downstairs exterior & interior walls are up! Leryl & Mike put the top plates on the walls today. They're going to start putting up the upstairs exterior walls tomorrow. I should be able to post pictures when they get something put up. The weather continues to be absolutely perfect, which we're thankful for. Everything is going well & we hope it continues! Have a good week, everyone!

2x4s Galore!!!

We have a jungle of 2x4s!!! It's hard to take pictures that make any sense. The top picture is the kitchen area with the door opening being the pantry. To the right is the den and the left is the powder room. Notice how clean the floor is.....that's my job!!!

This is the door way into the den....it's just to the right after you come in the front door.

And this is the north facing side of the house with the two bay windows. They're going through the stacks of lumber. More interior walls tomorrow.

Workin' on the Interior Walls!

The boys got a start on the interior walls! They had a bunch of piddly stuff to take care of first so they didn't get as far as they had hoped. They worked on the laundry room & mechanical room walls. I'm liking it!!!

Lower Exterior.....All Done!!!

They did it! The downstairs exterior walls are up! They did the bedroom bay first then worked on getting the garage header in place. Mike & Megan are taking it easy at the end of the day. Tomorrow will bring some odds & ends & hopefully the start of the interior walls on the lower level. They're making good progress!

Almost Made It.....

They almost made it all the way around. The French door wall in the great room gave them some trouble today. They have one more bay to do tomorrow and the exterior walls on the first floor will be up. The first picture is the guys jacking up the great room wall. The middle picture is Leryl standing in the French door opening. The last picture shows the bay in the eating area. I've decided......I better like cleaning windows.....there's a bunch!!!

The Garage is Framed

OK.....we have a garage! All that's left to frame on the downstairs exterior is the north wall around the bay windows and the French doors in the great room. They should start the interior walls Wednesday.
I'm enjoying a G&T in the garage & doing my official job of "cleaning up". Leryl & Mike tell me I do a fine job! :)
